Although this species can be found in the same environment as other introduced mollusks that can carry Angiostrongylus costaricensis, it is currently unknown whether this species can serve as a vector.
A closely related species, Meghimatium bilineatum has been reported as a host of Angiostrongylus cantonensis (rat lungworm)
