Salix alba

Golden willow; Osier (Salix alba) is an invasive plant. It is a native of Eurasia.

This tree is widely naturalized thoughout the United States but is shortlived since it is susceptible to several diseases, including watermark disease caused by the bacterium Brenneria salicis and willow anthracnose, caused by the fungus Marssonina salicicola. These diseases can be a serious problem on trees grown for timber or ornament. It is considered invasive in some states.
