Spongy Moth (Lymantria dispar dispar) is an insect pest of shrubbery and trees. It is a native of Europe and Asia and was first detected in Massachusetts in 1868-1869.

Caterpillars have voracious appetites for more than 300 species of trees and shrubs, posing a danger to North America's forests
