Bronze birch borer

Agrilus anxius

Bronze birch borer (Agrilus anxius) is an insect pest of ornamental birch trees. It is a native of North America and was first detected in Colorado in 1984.

This borer mostly attacks stressed, weakened, or diseased birch trees. Larval tunneling causes girdling and eventual death of branches.
