Giant Salvinia

Salvinia herzogii

Giant Salvinia (Salvinia herzogii) is an invasive plant. It is a native of South America.

The growth of these plants can very quickly form dense mats that may be more than 2 m thick. These mats block light and oxygen, displacing native plants.

For more information about this plant pest, see the CABI data sheet.
