Spodoptera litura

Cotton cutworm (Spodoptera litura) is an insect pest of many important food plants. It is a native of Asia and was first detected in Hawaii.

Though S. litura is not established in the continental US, it poses a high risk to plant health. International commerce provides recognized avenues of introduction.
