Ambrosia beetle
Anisandrus maiche Ambrosia beetle (Anisandrus maiche) is an insect pest of ornamental trees. It is a native of Asia and was first detected in Pennsylvania in 2005. Although there have been few reports of economic damage caused by this ambrosia beetle, it has the potential to degrade lumber quality, weaken municipal trees and attack threatened and endangered trees.
