Xylella fastidiosa Bacterial leaf scorch (Xylella fastidiosa) is a bacterial pathogen of citrus trees. It is a native of Brazil and was first detected in New York in 2007. Transmitted when sharpshooter leafhoppers feed on the xylem of the plant.
