04/17/14: For the 2014 survey season and beyond, for Cerceris surveys, you will now need to ensure that the appropriate host species (Ash for Agrilus planipennis and Oak for the other three Agrilus targets) is within a 200 meter (650 foot) radius of the sampling site. 7/2/12: The Cerceris Wasp Survey Protocol is now available and is listed in the References section below. The scientific name for the goldspotted oak borer, the Agrilus species that is causing mortality of oaks in California, has gone through several taxonomic changes in the past few years. It has most recently been changed from Agrilus coxalis to Agrilus auroguttatus. Trap should be used without a lure and hung in oak trees.
