Mile-a-minute Weed (Polygonum perfoliatum) is an invasive weed of open and disturbed areas. It is a native of Asia and was first detected in New York in 1930's.

Mile-a-minute is now established in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, New Yourk, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC. It rapidly covers existing vegetation and can weaken and kill native plants in naturals areas..
