Brown Root Rot (Phellinus noxius) is a fungal pathogen of forest and fruit trees. It is a native of Africa, Asia and Australasia.

Named for the brown-black crust seen on infected roots and crown of a host tree, this pathogen is believed to be spread via root contact, with possible survival of up to 10 years in the soil..
