Ramorum Blight ; Sudden Oak Death (Phytophthora ramorum) is a fungal pathogen of oaks and laurals. It was first detected in California in 1995.

This 'water mold' thrives in moist, mild environs has laid waste to tan oaks in the northwest. Plants from nurseries in quarantine areas must be certified to be free of this disease. Don't move plants or soil to prevent spreading this disease. .
