Green oak Tortrix
Green oak Tortrix (Tortrix viridana) is an insect pest of Oak and other species of trees and shrubs. It is a native of Europe, Northern Africa, Iran and Israel.
It is common to very common in many parts of Britain, inhabiting Oak woodland, and can become a pest, the abundant larvae sometimes completely defoliating trees. This is just one of many forest pests that are moved to un-infested forests by humans moving firewood. Help to protect our forests: don't move firewood! .
