Africanized Honey Bee
Apis mellifera scutellata Africanized Honey Bee (Apis mellifera scutellata) is an insect pest. It is a native of Africa and was first detected in Brazil in 1957. An aggressive bee, it migrated from Brazil and arrived in Texas in 1990. It continues to migrate into the southern states.
