Mediterranean Pine Engraver
Orthotomicus erosus

Mediterranean Pine Engraver (Orthotomicus erosus) is an insect pest of Pine, Spruce Fir and Cedar. It is a native of Asia and Europe and was first detected in California in 2004.

This pest poses a large risk to U.S. plant health. International commerce provides recognized avenues of introduction. If you think you have seen this pest, contact your state plant regulatory official. This is just one of many forest pests that are moved to un-infested forests by humans moving firewood. Help protect our forests: don't move firewood!
