Corn; Sorghum Bacterial Stripe (Burkholderia andropogonis) is a bacterial pathogen. It was first detected in Kansas in 1984.

Burkholderia andropogonis is a soil bacterium that can cause leaf, bud and stem spotting. Burkholderia andropogonis is the causal agent of numerous diseases affecting a wide range of monocot and dicot plants. B. andropogonis was recovered from lesions on crops such as sweet and field corn, blueberry, sorghum, carnation, coffee, statice, rye and clover. Bacterial leaf stripe symptoms are characterized bylinear purple, tan, red, or yellow lesions depending on host plant color. Bacterial leaf stripe is one of the three major bacterial diseases of sorghum. Strict quarantine regulations against importation of B. andropogonis-infested sorghum feed grains and seeds are imposed by numerous countries.
