Flag Smut (Urocystis agropyri) is a fungal pathogen. It is a native of Australia and was first detected in Utah in 1990.

Flag smut attacks the leaves and stems of grasses. The fungus produces grey-black lines of spores that run parallel to the leaf veins. Infected plants are often stunted and the flag leaf twisted. .
