Puccinia graminis graminis

Black Stem Rust; Stem Rust (Puccinia graminis graminis) is a fungal pathogen of wheat, barley and European barberry. It is a native of Europe and was first detected in New England States in Late 1600's.

The occurrance of this rust disease in cereal grain plants decreases with the eradication of barberry.
