The Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) program is sponsored by the Plant Protection and Quarantine division of USDA Animal and Plant Inspection Services. Surveys to detect and prevent the spread of this pest are being supported in the higlighted states.

Cooperation Leads to Success
The European Grapevine Moth may have been accidentally introduced when grape wood was smuggled into the country. It spread to California wine producing counties. California Department of Food and Agriculture quarantined several counties. However, due to coordinated efforts of grape growers, five counties have been lifted from this quarantine. They include, Fresno, Mendocino, Merced, San Joaquin, and recently Santa Cruz county.
